My MAC WebDesign Assignment

This is for my ACG 102 class. The assignment was to find 3 HTML websites, that used strictly HTML. We were then instructed to write a paragraph on each website explaining why we thought it was a success, even without flash.

The Biola University Undergrad Web-page gives the viewer a plethora of
colors, images and textures. Strictly HTML, this website integrates
illustrated images along with carefully cropped photography, all tied
in with colors and swirls that create a sort of "awe-ness". I think
the way that they combined all these features really gives the website
a special appeal, along with modern trends to attract certain age
groups so that they might identify with the school. The HTML works
perfectly for them, because they can get the cleanliness of HTML
without sacrificing an artistic design that flash might be able to
offer.

Cubeclub-chemnitz creates a head turning layout that uses HTML. The
first thing the viewer is drawn to, is the large artistic and very
modern design that is centered right in the middle of the page.
Personally, I think that designs like this, really standout more-so
than any flash design can give. Granted, flash designs are very
intriguing, and at times very awesome, but for strictly design
purposes, HTML really has a hold onto that foundation; and it gives
the website a more easy-navigating and more clean feeling.

As aposed to the other two websites I described, the Active Ride Shop
website, deals with a different type of HTML. This website, to me, is
trying to be more efficient and clean, more than flashy and
over-designed. It does a great job of implementing artistic abilities,
but at the same time, balances it out with professionalism and
navigation that my 8 year old sister can use.
